PH.D PROGRAMME
SWU follows the minimum guidelines for Ph.D. programmes prescribed by prescribed time to time and has adopted best practices of Ph.D. from leading universities and to produce quality Ph.D. Presently, SWU hosts Ph.D. programmes in varied fields covering medical, clinical, technology, sciences, humanities and social sciences . The University offers Ph.D. programmes in areas related to Sustainable Development. Master's programmes are offered in Public Policy & Sustainable Development, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management, Environmental and Resource Economics, Climate Science and Policy, Renewable Energy Engineering and Management, Water Resources Management, Geoinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, Business Sustainability and in Infrastructure Management. The University transcends traditional teaching and its courses attract students from various fields like economics, geography, engineering, social sciences, physical sciences and life sciences. This allows an integration of various perspectives into the curriculum, which provides a holistic approach to their study.

This University will usually conduct Ph.D. Examination twice a year.

Research Purpose and Questions
The purpose of this research is to explore how non-programmer adults who are educators learned to design mobile apps for teaching and learning through peer support and instructor guidance in an online graduate course. The research questions are as follows:
What is students’ sense of community in this online course?
What are students’ overall experiences of learning mobile programming in an online course?
How does students’ sharing of mobile app ideas, app customizations, and peer feedback influence their learning of mobile app design?
What are students’ perceptions of major assignments to support their app design experiences in this course?
What are students’ perceptions of App Inventor as a tool for learning mobile app design and for developing mobile apps?
